New Manufacturer For NED

C-MAC MicroTechnology has become the new manufacturer of MBDA’s low power NED radiation event detector. C-MAC MicroTechnology is a world leader in high-reliability electronic systems, modules and components for harsh environments such as extremes of temperature, vibration and shock. C-MAC operates primarily within the defence, aerospace, space, automotive and energy sectors. The head office is in Buckinghamshire, UK and the company has design and manufacturing facilities in the UK, Belgium and Canada, with additional dedicated sales and customer support teams throughout Europe and the USA. Peter Gordge, Business Manager at Precision Solutions said "Our collaboration with C-MAC enables us to provide a reliable specialised device from a highly credible manufacturer at a competitive cost to the customer. It is complemented by MBDA's specialised Radiation Effects Group who provide a full range of engineering capability including design, testing and analysis of components and systems requiring protection and optimised recovery from radiation events". Primarily available in a 14 pin flat-pack configuration, the NED, designed by MBDA and manufactured on C-MAC’s MIL-PRF-38534 certified production line attracted a lot of interest at the 2009 Space and Missile Defense Conference and Exhibition in Huntsville, Alabama. The NED will be available early in 2010 for procurement under the Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) programme managed by DSCC.
